Commercial HVAC Chiller Journeyman Technician - Union

As a Commercial HVAC Chiller Journeyman Service Technician, you will ensure HVAC systems operate efficiently and provide unmatched technical support to customers. Responsibilities Inspect and maintain air‑conditioning and HVAC systems to ensure efficient operation. Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical malfunctions in heating and cooling units. Install, replace, and calibrate HVAC equipment, including thermostatic controls and liquid lines. Service refrigeration equipment such as refrigerators, ice machines, gas packs, and heat pumps. Maintain chilled and hot water supply systems and adjust internal control systems. Assemble and install metal ductwork and assist in HVAC system planning and design. Ensure compliance with City, State, and EPA regulations by maintaining detailed maintenance records. Identify and mitigate risks to maintain a safe working environment. Collaborate with management to support safety and operational standards. Required Qualifications 5+ years practical working experience in the HVAC industry. 3+ months practical working experience with chillers. Ability to push, pull, and lift 50lbs. EPA Universal certification. Physical capability to stand, crawl, sit, squat for extended periods, climb ladders, and work on rooftops. High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license and insurability by the company’s insurance carrier. Preferred Qualifications Basic understanding of building automation controls. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience using Salesforce and ServiceMax. Benefits 401(k) participation. Paid travel time after the first hour. On‑call schedule with rotations every 7–8 weeks in most locations. Company‑provided vehicle with gas cards. All necessary tools provided. Key safety and personal protective equipment (PPE): Steel‑toed boots, Carrier‑branded uniforms with FR protection, HVAC gloves, hard hats, and face shields. Standard safety goggles provided, with an option for prescription eyewear if needed. Fall protection where required, plus respirators and earplugs as needed. Pay Range The hourly rate for this position is between $24.00 and $48.00, depending on skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
