SQL Database Administrator

Database Administrator (DBA)Our direct client based in NYC (midtown) is seeking a full-time DBA to manage PostgreSQL and MSSQL databases. This is an urgent client need with immediate interviews for qualified candidates.Salary range: $125,000 - $140,000 per yearBenefits: 401(k), Health insuranceType: Hybrid (onsite in NYC/midtown)Work Loc: NYCCandidate will have expertise in designing complex stored procedures, developing and optimizing SQL queries and ensuring the efficient installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of PostgreSQL. Knowledge and experience with Amazon AWS services and proficiency with Git/GitHub are highly desired. The successful DBA candidate will play a critical role in maintaining the stability, security, and performance of client's databases.Responsibilities:Management and administration of MSSQL and PostgreSQL databases, ensuring their stability, availability, and performanceDevelopment and optimization of SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data efficiently, improving system performance and response timesUtilize Git/GitHub for version control and collaborative development, ensuring proper code management and team coordinationDesign and maintain complex stored procedures, triggers, and views to meet business requirements, ensuring data consistency and integrityInstall, configure, and monitor PostgreSQL databases, addressing any issues or errors that ariseImplement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, authentication mechanisms, and data encryptionAssist in data warehouse design and implementation, including ETL processes and reporting requirementsDevelop and execute backup and recovery strategies, minimizing the risk of data loss and ensuring business continuityUtilize Amazon AWS services, such as EC2 and RDS, for database deployments, monitoring, and scaling to meet business demandsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and system administrators, to troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptlyStay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in MSSQL, PostgreSQL, Amazon AWS, and related technologiesQualifications:Solid experience as a DBA with primary focus on MSSQL and PostgreSQL databasesStrong proficiency in SQL query optimization and performance tuningExperience in the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of PostgreSQL databasesExpertise in designing and maintaining complex stored procedures, triggers, and viewsUnderstanding and practical experience with Amazon AWS services, such as EC2, RDS, and S3Familiarity with Git/GitHub for version control and collaborative developmentKnowledge of database security principles and best practicesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively in cross-functional teams and collaborate with stakeholdersHighly desired are Azure Database Administrator Associate certification or PostgreSQL Certified ProfessionalMoneyline Group LLC. is an equal opportunity employer.
