Position Title: Property Specialist - Job Code: PRPSP - Reports To: Property Manager - Department: Camp Property Management

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-time - Salary Grade: 4 - Last Updated: September 2026 - Hiring Range: $18.00-$26.00 per hour

About This Role

Maintain the magic at Camp Singing Hills!

The Property Specialist, under the general direction of the Property Manager, ensures the safe and smooth operation of property, structures, amenities, and grounds so that all have a successful experience in our properties. This specialist will oversee the year-round management of our Camp Singing Hills property in Waterville, Minnesota. The role will also require periodic on-call availability and the ability to provide emergency coverage when needed. On-site housing is available and pay will be adjusted if used.

This position requires strong organization, reliability, and a willingness to learn. While it does not have direct people management responsibilities, it has a high impact on outcomes, relationships, and the experience of girls, volunteers, or partners.

Essential Functions

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform exterior and interior repairs, maintenance, and custodial work on camp buildings and structures.
  • Responsible for the daily cleaning and upkeep of assigned areas, such as cabins, dormitories, offices, and miscellaneous camp buildings and structures.
  • Perform repair and maintenance on equipment, including docks, bikes, outdoor power equipment, and other equipment utilized in the operation of the camp.
  • Perform seasonal grounds and road work, including but not limited to: mowing, trimming, snow plowing, and road maintenance.
  • Perform regular inspections of HVAC equipment and perform air filter changes.
  • Proactively assess and record the condition, safety, and proper operation of the buildings, structures, equipment, amenities, and grounds on a regular basis. Bring issues to the manager's immediate attention.
  • Collaborate with manager on work priorities, scope of projects, suggested resolutions, and anticipated costs.
  • Display positive leadership and communication to external and internal customers. Be an active Girl Scouts ambassador at the property.
  • Serves as backup to other GSRV sites and facilities.
  • Work with outside vendors to complete maintenance and improvement projects.
  • Patrol property daily to ensure the safety of users and employees to reduce theft and vandalism.
  • Respond to property-related emergencies in a timely manner.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with colleagues across the council. Actively participate in All Staff meetings, staff in-service training, and other meetings.
  • When representing the council to both internal and external audiences, articulate GSRV's desired image and position to all audiences
  • Support the council's commitment to diversity of girls, volunteers, and staff and conduct all activities with a high degree of cultural competency.
  • Contribute to building a cohesive, flexible, and productive staff environment that demonstrates the values and mission of Girl Scouts and delivers high-quality customer service.
  • Subscribe to the principles of the Girl Scout Movement
  • Become a registered member of GSUSA.

What You Bring

Required:

Education and Experience

  • 2-Year Associates or technical degree in one or more of the following: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or other construction trade, and 3 plus years' experience in a similar position; OR
  • Demonstrate a combination of equivalent experience and training which provide required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience in using assigned equipment for the maintenance and repair of council facilities which includes but not limited to riding mowers, tractors, skid steers, chainsaws, hand and power tools, and other outdoor power equipment as needed.
  • Knowledge of equipment and operating procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Knowledge of identifying potential risk factors and safety issues that impact employees and customers utilizing the camp.
  • Computer skills and work experience with computer applications and technology, including Outlook email and calendars, Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint, online messaging systems and databases, as well as using a smartphone.
  • Experience in working effectively with people and communicating with volunteers, and external and internal customers to build and maintain productive work relationships.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as required by position responsibilities.
  • Ability to safely utilize ladders and scaffolding.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a nonprofit, youth-serving, or community-focused organization.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft office (Outlook, Teams, Excel).
  • Willing to live on-site in GSRV assigned housing to provide emergency coverage at Camp Singing Hills.
