As a Graduate Engineer at LJA Rail, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine tasks, which provide familiarity with the programs, staff, and operating procedures of the company.

A typical day might include:

• Design of horizontal and vertical alignments for rail tracks
• Design of drainage systems to support rail projects
• Develop plan set suitable for construction
• Obtains project information from other LJA personnel as directed.
• Uses templates to prepare draft memos and reports for an experienced engineer to use for re-write
• Receive regular training to learn the design of freight rail projects
• Potential for field construction management and inspection activities
• Other duties as assigned

Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering is required. Eligible to take the PE Exam within the next 3 years.

Required qualifications:

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to build strong relationships
• Rail experience a plus
• Microstation
