Base pay range $175,000.00/yr - $225,000.00/yr Let’s Connect: Practice Lead @ Katalyst Group | Connecting High-Performance Teams Controller Katalyst Group is recruiting on behalf of a PE‑backed industrial services company in Chicago, The Controller will serve as the company’s senior accounting leader, owning the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting in a complex, fast‑growing, Private Equity–backed environment. This role is responsible for leading GAAP‑compliant reporting within a Percentage of Completion revenue model, strengthening internal controls, and driving excellence across the monthly close, audit, and lender reporting processes. Partnering closely with the CFO, the Controller will lead accounting integration for acquisitions, oversee purchase accounting, and act as the business owner for Sage ERP—optimizing systems, standardizing processes, and centralizing accounting functions across a multi‑entity organization to enable scale, efficiency, and data integrity. The ideal candidate is a technically strong, hands‑on accounting leader with Big4 training and proven experience in PE‑backed companies undergoing rapid growth and acquisition activity. They bring deep expertise in POC accounting, multi‑entity consolidations, and building control environments that stand up to audit and lender scrutiny. This individual is highly organized, system‑savvy, and comfortable operating in the details while communicating clearly with executives. They thrive in high‑change environments, lead teams through transformation, and take ownership as a proactive business partner to the CFO—bringing structure, urgency, and continuous improvement to both people and processes. Compensation: Base salary will vary based on experience but will range from $175K-$225K, plus annual incentive bonus of 20–30% of base salary.
