  • Build and maintain strong relationships with public works directors, operators, maintenance supervisors, and municipal leadership to support ongoing and future project opportunities.

  • Identify and qualify opportunities for service contracts, system upgrades, expansions, and project work within the water and wastewater industry.

  • Promote the companys capabilities in control panels, instrumentation, variable frequency drive (VFD) systems, and SCADA integration to key decision-makers and stakeholders.

  • Maintain consistent customer contact and account development activities to ensure long-term customer satisfaction and repeat business.

  • Monitor upcoming projects, bids, and capital plans and work to position the company early in project cycles to maximize win potential.

  • Develop and strengthen relationships with contractors, engineers, and consulting firms involved in municipal and utility projects.

  • Attend industry meetings, networking events, and trade events when appropriate to represent the company and build brand awareness.

  • Manage and grow a defined sales territory by executing a structured outside sales and business development strategy.

  • Drive revenue growth through proactive new business development activities, including prospecting, follow-up, and closing opportunities.

  • Travel regularly throughout the territory to visit customers, municipalities, contractors, and project sites, serving as a primary customer-facing representative.

  • Communicate technical solutions clearly to customers and stakeholders, ensuring they understand the value and capabilities of proposed systems and services.

  • Independently plan and manage daily schedules, customer meetings, and follow-up activities to align with customer needs and project timelines.

  • Leverage existing industry relationships to generate new opportunities and expand the companys footprint in the municipal and utility markets.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in outside sales, business development, and municipal or utility sales.

  • Experience maintaining long-term customer relationships and identifying project opportunities.

  • Ability to communicate technical solutions clearly to customers and stakeholders.

  • Capability to manage a sales territory independently with minimal supervision.

  • Comfort calling on cities, municipal utility districts (MUDs), operators, engineers, and contractors.

  • Comfort traveling regularly throughout the assigned territory for customer visits and project meetings.

  • Strong self-motivation and drive to achieve revenue growth and business development goals.

  • Background in sales, technical sales, project management, sales management, business management, or account management related to water and wastewater or utility markets.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in the wastewater industry and familiarity with wastewater treatment facilities.

  • Knowledge of PLC maintenance and SCADA systems.

  • Understanding of networking technologies used in industrial control and automation environments.

  • Basic IT cabling experience and familiarity with conduit bending.

  • Experience with electrical panel installation and related field work.

  • Exposure to control panels, instrumentation, and VFD systems.

  • Ability to attend and effectively network at industry meetings, trade events, and professional gatherings.

  • Comfort working in a hybrid field and office structure with a high degree of autonomy.
