Blending Crew Leader - 12 Hour Night Shift (Hunt Valley Plant)

McCormick & Company, Inc. is hiring a full‑time Crew Leader for the Blending Department located at 11100 McCormick Rd, Hunt Valley, MD. Position Overview Under the direction of the Team Manager, the Crew Leader sets the example of team leadership within a high‑performance environment. Responsibilities Ensures overall team performance, including quality, safety, reliability, waste, and sanitation to achieve business goals. Proactively encourages continuous improvement and daily problem‑solving initiatives to increase operational effectiveness and efficiencies. Coaches, trains, and ensures compliance with plant procedures, including work rule, safety, and sanitation guidelines. Ensures all activities follow documented operating procedures and recommends updates to existing procedures as required. Coordinates and schedules crew vacation requests and overtime. Determines needs and conducts training required for new and existing employees. Ensures products meet quality standards, coordinating problem solving directly with the QA floor inspector. Resolves minor mechanical and processing problems and makes necessary adjustments to keep the line running. Performs job tasks of other team members that are of equal or lower grades. Facilitates teamwork and coaching among team members. Holds meetings for production tracking, problem solving, and team development. Required Qualifications Excellent attendance required. Meets standards in overall performance rating in most recent performance review. High school diploma or equivalent required. Three years of manufacturing and/or industrial experience required. Ability to perform changeovers and preventative maintenance on all production equipment. Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and resolve minor mechanical and processing issues. Ability to understand financial impact of business decisions affecting staffing, product components and inventory. Computer skills, including knowledge of Excel, Word, statistical database applications and Lotus Notes. Ability to proactively encourage continuous improvement and daily problem‑solving initiatives. Ability to coach, train and influence while demonstrating a deep respect for all people. Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Analytical, critical thinking skills to determine risk assessment. Ability to work overtime and weekends required. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of SAP, Infinity, PowerPoint, and Access. Formal leadership training and proven practice of leadership principles. Competency to operate all equipment in the business. Experience effectively leading and facilitating team and cross‑functional meetings. Base Salary $26.78 – $40.18 per hour. Compensation may be adjusted based on geographic location, skills, experience, and internal equity. Eligible to participate in McCormick’s Dividend Program.
