HumCap is hiring an HR Consultant to act as a hands-on operational partner across a portfolio of growing clients. You’ll step directly into real environments — stabilizing HR operations, solving day-to-day issues, and helping teams run better.

This is ideal for someone who:

This is not a recruiting role. Not a people leader role. This is do-the-work, solve-the-problem HR. We’re looking for someone who has progressed in their HR career and owned outcomes—not just tasks.

What You’ll Actually Do

Be the HR person (across multiple companies)

• Act as the go-to HR contact for several client organizations
• Jump into real issues — employee relations, onboarding gaps, manager questions
• Build credibility quickly with leaders who need help now

Own the employee lifecycle (end to end)

• Support hiring coordination, onboarding, performance conversations, and exits
• Fix broken processes and make things run cleaner and faster
• Keep documentation tight and compliant without overcomplicating it

Keep operations running

• Maintain HRIS data, track employee changes, and support audits
• Coordinate payroll inputs and benefits activities
• Partner with vendors and internal teams to keep things moving

Solve and improve

• Clean up messy processes
• Document “how it should work”
• Support multiple clients with overlapping priorities without losing momentum

What Makes Someone Successful Here

• Professional enough for executives, approachable enough for employees

What You Bring

• 4-10 years of HR experience (generalist, HRBP-lite, or coordinator who leveled up fast)
• Bachelor’s degree required with strong academic foundation
• Experience supporting multiple managers, teams, or business units
• Solid understanding of onboarding, ER, compliance, and HR operations
• Exposure to HRIS + spreadsheets + task tracking tools
• Ability to handle sensitive situations with good judgment
• Demonstrated progression and ownership in prior roles
• Track record of follow-through and long-term impact
• Experience seeing HR processes through full lifecycle and outcomes

Bonus points if you’ve:

• Supported multiple companies, clients, or locations
• Worked in consulting, PEO, or outsourced HR
• Thrived in lean, fast-moving environments
• SHRM or PHR certification (or interest in pursuing certification)

Compensation & Location
