What You'll Do

• Assemble wood trusses according to blueprints and production specifications displayed on digital screens.
• Position pre-cut lumber and components using automated jig systems.
• Install metal connector plates and secure materials using hand tools and pneumatic equipment.
• Read and use a tape measure accurately to ensure quality and dimensional accuracy.
• Operate hand tools and pneumatic staple guns safely and effectively.
• Inspect completed trusses for accuracy and quality before moving them to staging areas.
• Work alongside forklift operators and production team members to move finished products safely.
• Assist with catching, sorting, stacking, and organizing lumber throughout the production process.
• Verify measurements, angles, and layouts using carpenter squares and measuring tools.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following company safety procedures.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience in manufacturing, production, construction, carpentry, assembly, woodworking, warehouse, or general labor.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately to 1/16 inch.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to pass the Basic Industrial Math and Tape Measure assessment.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using hand tools and power tools.
• Carpentry, framing, or woodworking experience.
• Blueprint reading experience.
• Manufacturing or assembly experience.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in construction or building materials environments.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility that produces residential and commercial wood trusses. Team members work with lumber, pneumatic tools, measuring equipment, and automated production systems throughout the day.

Available shifts include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift opportunities.

The facility is heated during colder months and utilizes open-door ventilation during warmer weather. Candidates should be comfortable working in a physically active environment that includes standing, lifting, bending, measuring, and handling building materials.

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasantville, IA.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $21.59 - $23.59/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
