Senior Component Quality Engineer

Job Summary As a Senior Component Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for the programmatic oversight and guidance to the selection, development, evaluation, qualification, production, and procurement of electronic parts. You will work with engineering to ensure parts meet the required quality standards and specifications and help build technology that supports national defense and electronic systems. Responsibilities Oversee the programmatic selection, development, evaluation, qualification, production, and procurement of electronic parts. Develop and revise foundational program documentation such as Parts Management Plan, Device Evaluation Testing Plan, Qualification Plan, and Lot Acceptance plan. Identify key deliverables, dependencies, risks, and opportunities; ensure plans meet program milestones and make technical and quality-related decisions. Drive solutions to complex problems, develop requirements, propose ways forward when requirements are unclear or incomplete, and adapt to changes. Establish and maintain a common parts library process. Coordinate decisions with designers, component engineers, procurement agencies and other stakeholders to assess enabling technologies and select parts. Maintain the Approved Parts List and interface with the Design Environment Infrastructure. Coordinate Supply Chain Management requirements, including program protection. Contribute to procurement plans and strategies, supplier quality requirements, evaluations, and supply chain risk management assessments. Contribute to part specification requirements and associated templates. Define prototype acceptance requirements, production quality levels, traceability requirements, and production acceptance approach. Provide technical assistance and support to customers, suppliers, and employees in resolving issues. Lead improvements of manufacturing, process, and product efficiency to reduce nonconforming products. Ensure products meet quality and integrity requirements. Provide analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process. Lead a cross‑function team for root‑cause analysis and recommend corrective measures. Analyze data to identify quality or defect trends, mitigate recurrence and prevent future defects. Mentor less experienced engineers. Qualifications Experience working with electronic parts, circuit card assemblies, radiation-hardened testing, and parts acceptance requirements. Experience with evolving requirements involving cross‑functional stakeholders. Ability to work independently. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time‑management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to prioritize tasks. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Good interpersonal skills to communicate clearly. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline. 5‑7 years of experience in quality engineering or related roles.
