JOB SUMMARY AND DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE WORK:
The Fund Accountant reviews and analyzes the financial reporting on a property and fund level basis. This position works under the supervision of the Fund Accounting Vice Presidents.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution; and
● Accounting and real estate industry knowledge preferred
● Any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
Licenses and Certifications:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
● Reviews operational monthly financial reporting packages for multiple properties
● Monitors various entity level cash balances and prepares monthly bank reconciliations for various entity bank accounts
● Prepares lender reporting packages and reviews the calculation of certain debt covenants
● Processes invoices for various entity level expenses
● Coordinates and communicates the results, findings and recommendations of monthly reviews with various departments including Asset Management and Property Management
● Review and understanding of partnership agreements, loan documents, and leases
● Assists with external audits and reviews including preparation of year-end audit workpapers
● Prepares reconciliations for various entity level balance sheet accounts
● Prepares journal entries for various entity level activity
● Prepares and/or reviews quarterly investor reporting
