Location & Schedule Location: Coastal State Probation, 200 Gulfstream Rd, Garden City, GA 31418 Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 10‑hour day shifts. Sign‑on Bonus: $3,000 available for credentialed counselors. Responsibilities Conduct client interviews and assessments to review substance use disorder and treatment history. Evaluate client response to treatment, recommend modifications to the treatment plan, and assist with caseloads. Develop and prepare individualized goals, interventions, and necessary support. Provide didactic group counseling, including psychoeducation, drug education, and family education. Offer individual client counseling, educational programs, and lectures to address relapse prevention, problem solving, behavior modification, and anger management. Manage a caseload of up to 25 clients as required by state and contract. Collaborate with clients to develop discharge summaries and continuing‑care plans for supervisor approval. Coordinate required services to resolve emergency problems in crisis situations. Collect and maintain treatment records and reports to ensure compliance with organizational, regulatory, accreditation, and contractual requirements. Perform office administrative duties: telephone answering, message relaying, policy inquiries, filing, photocopying, faxing, and event planning. Job Requirements Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in a helping profession from an accredited college or university. Some previous counseling experience; experience in substance use disorder or mental health treatment is preferred. Obtain certification identified by state within 30 months of the first counseling date. Acceptable certifications include Certified Addiction Counselor from GACA, NAADAC, ICRC; Certified Clinical Supervisor (CCS). Acceptable licensure includes LPC, LAPC, LCSW, LMFT, CPCS. Obtain Georgia Department of Corrections clearance to work in a correctional institution. Physical Requirements Work in a correctional facility. Walk and move about the facility for up to two hours at a time. Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally or negligible force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Use a keyboard and video display terminal to retrieve and audit information. Record, proofread, and check documents for accuracy. Respond to telephones, hear and detect alarms and unusual noises. Compensation Non‑Credentialed: $20.50–$21.50 per hour. Credentialed: $25.00–$27.00 per hour. $3,000 sign‑on bonus for certified/licensed counselors. Annual performance reviews with merit increases.
