Laboratory Technician

This entry-level laboratory technician position offers an opportunity to support daily operations in a genotyping laboratory environment. Working on a second shift, you will assist in maintaining a clean, organized workspace and support various laboratory activities, including sample handling, equipment operation, and documentation review. The role provides exposure to multiple laboratory areas, such as sample processing, extraction, and detection, while ensuring compliance with safety and workflow protocols. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily laboratory operations to ensure a clean and organized workspace. Receive, organize, and track incoming samples. Maintain appropriate inventory levels of labware, buffers, and reagents. Troubleshoot and operate equipment used in genotyping production processes. Review, update, and maintain accurate documentation related to laboratory tasks. Rotate across different lab areas, including Chipping, Extraction, and Detection. Follow safety protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, and workflow guidelines. Support multiple tasks simultaneously and collaborate effectively with supervisors and other teams. Participate in training sessions, which may occur outside normal work hours. Required Qualifications Ability to follow safety and operational procedures accurately. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with various team members. Willingness to learn and adapt to different laboratory tasks and environments. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in a laboratory setting or related field. Basic troubleshooting skills with laboratory equipment. Familiarity with documentation and inventory management. Able to work well under supervision and within a team. Availability to participate in additional training outside of scheduled hours.
