Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

Butler, Fairman and Seufert (BF&S) is seeking a construction Project Supervisor to work out of our Merrillville, Indiana Office. This person will be responsible for inspection of construction projects locally and federally funded in Indiana as an owner's representative. This is a higher-level role that involves management of others and direct communication with owners.

Job Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Proficient at contract document review, interpretation, and understanding. Able to give directions to staff and reply to contractors on project troubleshooting.
• Efficient at leading, organizing, communicating, and summarizing construction project meetings.
• Efficient at INDOT processes with a focus on delivering INDOT final construction records.
• Capable of leading large projects and a team of inspectors.
• Efficient at data entry and review of others work in INDOT Sitemanager/Aashtoware.
• Efficient at basic software such as Excel and Word.
• Able to communicate project details to the owner.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required & maintain a valid Driver's License. College degree in a related field is preferred, but not required.
• 8+ years of experience in the construction industry
• A strong understanding of Algebraic concepts is required.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to follow company QC/QA procedures.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is sometimes outdoors, and some physical exertion may be necessary.
