Ramp Technician

Location: Atlanta, GA (Hartsfield-Jackson Airport) Department: Operations Reports to: Airside Operations Supervisor Salary Level 6: $60,588 FLSA Status: Non‑Exempt Position Summary We are seeking a Ramp Technician to join our Airside Operations team at Hartsfield‑Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Ramp Technicians are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the airport operational areas. This role requires flexibility with variable shifts and variable days off. Scheduled hours will primarily be centered around 3rd shift, with some 1st and 2nd shift assignments based on department needs or shift bidding. Responsibilities Adhere to all safety policies and procedures without exception. Clean and maintain airport operational areas, including removal of large heavy items. Respond to fuel and grease spills promptly and participate in the clean‑up process. Operate industrial power washing equipment in various areas of the operation. Collect pallets and clean dumpster areas as needed. Wash exterior windows across airport facilities. Perform high‑window cleaning indoors during weather‑impacted days. Operate industrial machinery and other assigned equipment, including driving in an airport environment. Assist in snow removal process defined by the AATC Snow Removal Plan. Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor. Coordinate and prioritize workload with your supervisor. Perform landscaping and grounds maintenance tasks, including safe and proficient operation of equipment such as lawnmowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and mowers. Qualifications and Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred. Must be able to read and write English proficiently. Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance, custodial, or operations environment is preferred. Safely and effectively operate industrial machinery in an airport operational environment. Working Conditions Must have a valid driver’s license with a driving record void of recent major moving violations. Must successfully pass a background check for insurance and security processes. Must be able to pass a physical agility test. Must be comfortable working at elevated heights for high window washing tasks. Most of the workday will be spent standing. Outdoor work is required in all weather conditions. Hazardous materials handling. Occasional shift variance to include weekend or holiday work as required. Steel‑toed shoes must be worn on duty. Additional Qualifications Commitment to safety, quality, and meeting departmental goals. Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with customers, tenants, contractors, and AATC staff. Must be a team player and demonstrate strong organizational skills.
