Job Summary The Security Officer at Clear Creek Tahoe is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for employees, members, guests, and authorized visitors. The ideal candidate is empathetic, approachable, and passionate about delivering exceptional customer service in every interaction. This role is essential to preserving the safety, security, and peace of mind of the community. Key responsibilities include monitoring entry and exit points, patrolling the property, enforcing community rules, responding to emergencies, and assisting residents and visitors with professionalism. The Security Officer must also demonstrate discretion, confidentiality, and a strong commitment to both security and hospitality. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. CCT GateHouse Functions Greet, determine authorization for, then track and monitor all visitors. Complete daily activity logs. Verify credentials, identification, and authorization prior to granting access. Secure/maintain access via keys to all CCT common buildings. Accept package deliveries for CCT employees and residents. Issue visitor or contractor passes and maintain accurate entry logs. Other duties as assigned. CCT Patrolling & Surveillance Respond to emergencies on property and assist 1st Responders as directed. Patrol all roads within CCT property using CCT marked vehicle. Conduct regular vehicle and foot patrols of the property, including common areas, streets, amenities, and perimeter. Check gates, doors, windows, and fencing for security or safety issues. Monitor Surveillance Cameras and Report Suspicious Activities Control access to all CCT buildings daily, morning and night. Check and secure all exterior gates, and emergency access gates. Traffic speed and route enforcement. Write incident reports as needed. Pick up visible trash and debris along common areas of property. Other duties as assigned. Safety & Incident Response Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, accidents, or medical emergencies. Report and document incidents in detailed written logs and incident reports. Contact emergency services when required and assist until help arrives. Enforcement & Compliance Enforce community rules, regulations, and parking policies consistently and fairly. Address violations or concerns in a professional, non-confrontational manner. Support HOA or community management in maintaining order. Issue citations as needed. Customer Service Provide directions, information, and assistance to residents and guests. Always represent the community with professionalism, courtesy, and integrity. General Duties Perform scheduled lockups, equipment checks, and safety inspections. Maintain accurate shift logs, incident reports, and communication records. Report maintenance or safety hazards to management. Other duties as assigned. This position operates primarily in a busy GateHouse environment and requires the use of a company vehicle to access all areas of the Clear Creek Tahoe property, including during inclement weather conditions. Security Officers work a variety of shifts, including days, swings, nights, weekends, and holidays, and must be flexible and dependable in their availability. The role routinely involves the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, video surveillance DVRs, and a marked company vehicle. On occasion, Security Officers may also be required to use safety equipment such as AEDs, fire extinguishers, traffic flares, and cones in the event of an emergency. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to operate equipment, handle or feel objects, and reach with hands and arms. This role requires the employee to: Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be capable of safely operating a company vehicle. Occasionally lift or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Perform duties that may require physical exertion when handling materials, tools, traffic equipment, or safety devices. Climb Stairs Spend a significant portion of work time patrolling on foot or in a vehicle. Operates some tools, machines or equipment. No significant lifting. Days and hours of work vary, as security coverage is required 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Shifts may include days, evenings, overnights, and weekends. Officers are expected to work holidays and support Clear Creek Tahoe special events as operational needs require. Occasional overtime may be required as directed by the Director of Security. Travel is mainly local during any shift, including South Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Reno, or Truckee. Qualifications Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent Valid government issued U.S. driver’s license Preferred Education and Experience Previous experience in customer service, Security or Law Enforcement. Working knowledge of computers and software like Microsoft Office, Google Docs, etc. Additional Eligibility Qualifications Reliable transportation No criminal background or poor driving record Willingness and ability to work nights and/or weekends Willingness and ability to work holidays and Clear Creek Tahoe special events.
