Job Title Assistant Attorney General 1 Compensation Minimum $72,000.00 – salary commensurate with experience. Job Summary Attorneys in the State Licensing Boards Section of the Regulated Industries and Professions Division provide legal advice, represent the boards in administrative hearings and appeals, and defend civil actions related to professional licensing boards and judicial reviews of agency decisions. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Litigate cases: participate in hearings and appear in administrative, state, and federal courts to try cases and argue motions and appeals. Research and prepare pleadings, motions, and briefs. Interview witnesses and work with expert witnesses. Participate in settlement negotiations. Provide legal advice and/or representation to clients/agencies, and draft memoranda of advice. Conduct research on pertinent legal issues and keep abreast of recent legal developments. Draft formal opinions in response to legal questions. Attend client, board, departmental, and division meetings as required. Attend continuing legal education seminars as required. Travel as required. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited law school and membership in the Georgia Bar.
