Laydown Foreman (Temp-to-Perm)

Location: Gibsonton, FL
Pay Rate: $20 - 28 per hour (DOE)
Schedule: Full-Time
Position Type: Temp-to-Perm

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Ironworker/ Laydown Technician to join our team in a hands-on leadership role. This position is ideal for someone with a strong industrial or structural steel background who can lead by example in the field. The role involves overseeing daily laydown operations while actively performing ironwork tasks in an outdoor industrial environment.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Industrial, structural steel, or fabrication background required
• Recent graduates with relevant technical or trade education will be considered
• Prior foreman or lead experience is required

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of industrial or structural steel fabrication and installation
• Ability to read and understand basic drawings and job instructions
• Experience with bolting, grinding, drilling, and rigging operations
• Proficient using mag drills and hand/power tools
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Class A Driver’s License required
• Strong safety awareness and leadership mindset

Responsibilities

• Lead and support laydown and ironwork operations on site
• Perform hands-on tasks including bolting, grinding, drilling (mag drills), and rigging
• Assist with material organization, staging, and site coordination
• Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards
• Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
