Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Gastroenterology

Description This contract, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity to provide high-quality gastroenterology care in a dynamic Medical Practice environment. As a Locum Gastroenterologist, you will deliver comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients with digestive system disorders. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and continuity of care within the medical practice. Responsibilities Diagnose and treat patients with gastrointestinal and liver conditions Perform endoscopic procedures including upper endoscopy and colonoscopy Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and laboratory results Develop and manage individualized treatment plans for patients Collaborate with primary care physicians and specialists on patient care Provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology consultations Document patient encounters accurately and timely in electronic medical records Educate patients on digestive health, prevention, and treatment options Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the practice Ensure compliance with all medical regulations and standards of care Manage chronic gastrointestinal conditions such as IBS, IBD, and GERD Coordinate referrals for advanced procedures and specialized care as needed Requirements Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree Valid medical license in good standing Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology Associate-level experience in clinical gastroenterology practice Proficiency in performing endoscopic procedures Strong clinical diagnostic and decision-making skills Experience with electronic medical records systems Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation practices Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical environments Board certification required ACLS and BLS required Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30a-3:30p No call required Setting: Outpatient Daily Volume: 15 patients Caseload: General outpatient GI procedures Support Staff: RN EMR: Epic Paid travel & expenses #J-18808-Ljbffr 77 Consultants
