Registered Nurse - Operating Room

Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses to provide surgical patient care across various specialties. Candidates will be responsible for assessing, planning, and executing nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures in a busy hospital environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive patient assessment and develop individualized care plans for surgical patients.
  
• Maintain a sterile environment and ensure adherence to infection control protocols during procedures.
  
• Assist with preoperative preparations, patient education, and post-operative recovery monitoring.
  
• Collaborate with surgical teams, including vascular and orthopedic specialists, to coordinate patient care.
  
• Operate in circulating and scrub roles, utilizing EPIC EMR system for documentation and communication.
  
• Ensure compliance with licensing, certification, and drug screening requirements prior to assignment.
  Qualifications:
  
• Valid New York State Registered Nurse license and current certifications (BLS, ACLS).
  
• Minimum of 2 years of recent OR experience, including vascular, orthopedic, trauma, or general surgery.
  
• Demonstrated experience in EPIC EMR and surgical procedures.
  
• Proven ability to work independently and in multi-disciplinary teams.
  
• Must have own vehicle; travel experience preferred.
  
• Certification in peripheral vascular or orthopedic nursing is a plus.
