Overview

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for progressive care unit patients, including monitoring vitals, performing assessments, and identifying changes in condition.
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol; manage IV therapy, wound care, and other nursing duties in PCU.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with physicians, charge nurses, and other members of the health care team.
- Document accurately in the electronic health record; ensure patient safety, infection control, and privacy standards are maintained.
- Respond promptly to clinical changes, escalate when needed, participate in rounds, and educate patients and families about care plans.
- Ensure smooth patient handoffs between shifts and adherence to hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements
- Active RN license to practice in Georgia
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH Certification required
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience in PCU or equivalent step-down/intermediate care
- Ability to work in a progressive care environment and support step-down needs
- Education: graduation from an approved nursing program; eligible for Georgia RN licensure
- No local candidates within 50 miles
