Staff Associate I - Chapman College

Job Overview Young Life is looking for a Staff Associate I to support ministry efforts at Chapman University and the wider Orange County region. The role involves developing and leading spiritual, leadership, resource, and direct ministry activities while maintaining administrative and logistical support. Responsibilities Plan and lead spiritual growth activities for youth and adult participants, including prayer, discipleship, and church relationships. Recruits, trains, and mentors volunteer leaders to build an inclusive ministry team. Develop and implement a yearly strategic ministry plan and monitor its progress. Organize and lead contact work, clubs, Campaigners, and camping initiatives. Co‑operate on fundraising events, donor care, and public relations to support ministry finances. Maintain accurate records of participants, leaders, and donors and ensure compliance with Young Life policies and stewardship practices. Perform administrative tasks such as data management, communication, and coordination of area events. Qualifications Experience in direct ministry with youth and adults. Strong relational, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information. Profess belief in Jesus Christ as personal Savior and agree to Young Life’s Statement of Faith. Commitment to the Christian mission and evangelism of Young Life. Ability to work in diverse settings, including summer camps, urban environments, and college campuses. Work Conditions Physical demands of hiking, horseback riding, boating, and other outdoor activities. Exposure to extreme heat, cold, and challenging terrain during camps. Long hours and flexible schedule to meet ministry needs. Training & Education College degree preferred. Core training includes: - New Staff Training - Leadership I and II - Apologetics - Winter Training course Training is supervised by regional staff and is designed to enhance spiritual maturity, personal character, and ministry skills. #J-18808-Ljbffr
