This position is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment, driving performance to meet customer demand, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and achieving operational goals. The role requires proactive problem-solving, effective communication, and a strong focus on eliminating waste and inefficiencies.Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for the following:Safety Leadership: Champion and lead safety initiatives to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.Achieving Operational Goals: Meet or exceed production targets and support people initiatives in alignment with unit objectives.Performance Monitoring: Track team performance against established goals; implement corrective actions as needed to maintain or improve results.Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead the implementation of improvement plans.Root Cause Problem Solving: Analyze issues to their root causes and implement sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence.Effective Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication within the team and across departments to ensure alignment and transparency.Labor Relations Management: Address and resolve labor relations and conflict issues within the team in a fair and timely manner.Visual Management: Maintain and utilize visual systems to track performance and communicate key metrics within the area of responsibility.Team Leadership: Provide clear direction, motivation, and support to team members to foster engagement and accountability.Shift Requirements: Candidates must demonstrate flexibility and willingness to work either day or night shift, depending on operational needs. This department works on a 12-hr continuous shift pattern. Annual salary is $80k/year.Qualifications You have (required):Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institutionMinimum of 3 years of experience in a production environmentMinimum of 1 year of experience with metals preferredExperience working in a union environment preferredEmployees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
