Equipment Operator -Saws, Beam Line

Job Description

Job Description

We're looking for an experienced operator to run production saws, beam lines, angle lines, forklifts, and Lull telehandlers in our structural steel fabrication shop. You'll prepare steel, pipe, and tubing to approved drawings and cut lists while maintaining traceability and quality.

What you'll do

• Set up and operate band saws, cold saws, beam lines, and angle lines for cutting, drilling, punching, shearing, and marking
• Read drawings, shop details, and cut lists; load programs and verify tooling, settings, and material orientation
• Check first pieces and monitor runs for accuracy; report worn tooling, defects, or machine problems
• Load, unload, move, and stage material with forklifts and Lull telehandlers, following load charts and capacity limits
• Verify material grade and size, and maintain piece marks and heat-number traceability
• Measure finished parts, record production and inspection results, and present work at QC hold points
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and preventive maintenance; keep work areas safe and organized

What you bring

• Experience running production saws, beam lines, and angle lines in a steel fabrication shop
• Experience operating forklifts and Lull or comparable telehandlers
• Ability to read fabrication drawings, cut lists, and basic machine programs
• Skill with tape measures, squares, calipers, and other inspection tools
• Working knowledge of structural shapes, pipe, tubing, and material identification
• Solid shop math (fractions, decimals, conversions)
• Dependable attendance and clear communication with supervisors, fabricators, and QC

Must Have

• CNC setup and troubleshooting experience
• Experience processing stainless steel and aluminum
• Familiarity with first-piece inspections and quality hold points

Work environment
Fabrication shop and material storage areas with noise, moving equipment, and changing temperatures. The job involves standing, walking, bending, climbing equipment access steps, and handling tools and materials. Reasonable accommodations are available.

I used "Fabrication Equipment Operator" as the title since the original didn't have one. The posting will also need pay, shift, location, and how to apply, which weren't in the description.
