Job Title: Welder / Fabricator – 2nd & 3rd Shift

Job Description

This fast-paced welder / fabricator role focuses on MIG and stick welding of various metals to produce high-quality components that meet precise specifications and engineering standards. You will read and interpret blueprints, fit and align parts, perform grinding and finishing, and work closely with production teams to maintain a smooth workflow and consistent quality. The position requires strong technical welding skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding as the primary welding process, with horizontal welding as the main orientation and occasional TIG or stick welding as required for specific items.
• Position, fit, align, and weld products based on detailed specifications, engineering drawings, and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication.
• Read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols to determine welding requirements, joint configurations, and quality standards.
• Measure, cut, and fit components using tape measures and other measuring tools to achieve precise dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform grinding and finishing on manufactured parts to meet structural and aesthetic requirements, using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Utilize various quality instruments to verify accuracy of dimensions, weld quality, and overall product integrity.
• Work with flux core and structural welding processes as needed to support production requirements.
• Partner with other departments, including production and quality assurance, to ensure smooth production flow and on-time completion of customer orders.
• Follow established production procedures and meet productivity targets while maintaining high quality standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by following safety protocols and housekeeping practices.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment, including hearing and eye protection, and follow safety guidelines in loud and active manufacturing areas.
• Participate in overtime work as needed, including weekend shifts, to support production demands and customer timelines.

Essential Skills

• 2–5 years of experience in welding within a manufacturing environment or similar field.
• Strong knowledge of MIG welding processes, including horizontal welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbols accurately.
• Demonstrated ability to pass a weld test in line with production and quality standards.
• Proficiency with tape measures and other basic measuring tools for accurate cutting and fitting of components.
• Experience with grinding and finishing of welded structures and parts.
• Familiarity with flux core and structural welding applications.
• Ability to work independently on a small maintenance or fabrication team, especially on 2nd shift.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, accurate work.
• High school diploma or GED.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jackson, TN.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Jackson,TN.
