Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience assisting individuals with developmental disabilities. This role is essential in providing high-quality care and support to enhance the quality of life for our clients. The QIDP will work closely with individuals, their families, and other professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals with developmental disabilities in daily living activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Conduct assessments to determine individual needs and develop tailored care plans.
• Develop and create participant-specific plans and train staff on implementing programs.
• Attend and/or lead meetings related to program development.
• Supervise habilitation services and direct care staff.
• Observe and train staff on best practices for assisting individuals with disabilities.
• Understanding of the unique challenges faced by individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Be available to on-call duties during designated rotation.
• Compassionate demeanor with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
• Ensure medications are obtained and documented appropriately.
• Complete quality assurance on paperwork and services provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Human Services Field, including, but not limited to Sociology, Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling, Psychology. Other degrees include: licensed Doctor or Medicine or osteopathy, licensed registered nurse, certified occupational therapist or occupational therapist assistant, certified physical therapist, certified physical therapist assistant or a graduate of an approved two-year college-level program, psychologist, social worker, speech-language pathologist or audiologist, professional recreation staff person with a bachelor's degree in recreation or in a specialty area such as art, dance, music, or physical education, and/or registered professional dietician.
• At least 1 year of professional, supervised experience with a developmental disability population
• Experience in writing and implementing behavior and skill training plans (training will be provided if no experience)
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
• Good organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Patience with yourself and others.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate direct service shifts, office work, and occasional duties out of regular business hours.
• Be self-directed and able to solve problems independently.
• Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with participants/co- workers/families/interdisciplinary team.
• Competency with using computers.
• Competency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Responsible and dependable work habits.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $1,000 - $4500 per month

Work Location: In person. Position includes being in the field and office work.
