Summary You will serve as a TRANSPORTAION ASSISTANT in the FLEET READINESS CENTER SE (FRCSE) of FLTREADCEN SOUTHEAST. Responsibilities You will assist with planning, developing coordinating and executing both long and short range travel programs for a large widely dispersed organization. You will receive and process travel documents and the ability to research and review information within various travel and financial systems. You will deal effectively with conflicts or issues related to official travel entitlements, travel overpayments and debt resolution. You will provide guidance to travelers on preparation of official travel documents to include official travel reservations, estimated travel expenses and costs, trip authorizations, scheduling advances or partial payments. You will review certification of disbursements for expenses incurred in connection with official travel, scheduled partial payments, and electronic funds transfer (EFT) advances Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Expertise and in-depth knowledge of a broad range of official travel. Knowledge in applying regulations (JTR, DoDFMR, and Defense Travel Regulations (DTR) and procedures applicable to the total travel function, including civilian and military travel entitlements, disbursing/fiscal accounting and reporting procedures in correlation with the overall travel function, financial controls and cost management techniques. . Ability to assist with planning, developing, coordinating and executing both long- and short-range travel programs for a large widely dispersed organization. Ability to receive and process travel documents and the ability to research and review information within various travel and financial systems. Ability to deal effectively with conflicts or issues related to official travel entitlements, travel overpayments and debt resolution. Knowledge of commercial and DoD web-based applications used to create and process official travel documents. Skill in applying conventional fact finding, analytical and problem solving methodologies and techniques to evaluate information concerning the official travel related systems and processes.
