Facilities Manager – HVAC – Facilities Services Job Summary: To provide leadership and management to all Facilities Services HVAC technicians. Manage all daily functions and operations of designated trade. Ensure efficient and effective delivery of services and ensure compliance with regulatory policies and procedures. Education & Experience A High School Diploma/GED is required. Supervisory and healthcare experience is preferred. Certifications, Licenses and Registration Required Valid Driver's License. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of maintenance best practices. Knowledge in healthcare regulatory standards. Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems. Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in construction or repair projects. Skill in installing, repairing, and selecting the appropriate equipment to complete the job. Ability to develop and implement planned maintenance programs. Great organizational and time management skills. Responsibilities Manages the daily operations and delivery of services by FS HVAC staff. Reviews and prioritizes work assignments to meet fluctuating demands. Provides coaching, education, consultation, training and evaluation of staff performance. Oversees schedules and work for designated trade to ensure proper distribution of assignments and efficient utilization of FS staff, space and facilities. Monitors compliance, investigates variances and provides plans for remediation. Conducts ongoing quality improvement activities to enhance the delivery of services. Collaborates with leadership to ensure established goals are met. Reviews and comments on new construction plans, specifications and submittals. Inspects renovation and construction projects. Conducts safety meetings and inspections to ensure compliance with applicable code requirements, safety procedures, healthcare regulatory standards and industry best practices. Maintains required records and reports; calculates amounts of tools, equipment and supplies required to complete projects. Monitors expenses and identifies cost‑saving opportunities and works to optimize resource allocation. Collaborates with external vendors/contractors for specialized maintenance and repair projects ensuring adherence to healthcare standards and budgets. Physical and Environmental Demands Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, occasional handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, occasional exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional travelling to offsite locations, frequent activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, occasional work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 75 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crawling, occasional crouching/stooping, frequent driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, occasional reaching, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking.
