Senior Buyer – Job Overview Join SunTech Medical, Inc. as a Senior Buyer responsible for owning global product lines, supplier relationships, and driving strategic initiatives within a regulated medical device environment. Job Responsibilities Lead procurement for assigned domestic and global product lines with full ownership of supplier relationships. Influence cross‑functional decisions and work directly with Operations, Quality, Engineering, Finance, and Customer Service. Provide guidance to Buyers or junior team members regarding procurement processes, reporting, and supplier management. Drive process improvements, SOP updates, and item master governance to ensure data integrity and compliance. Collaborate with Product Managers on End‑of‑Life (EOL) product planning for smooth transitions. Build supply‑chain visibility and insights using Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, formulas) and Power BI. Play a key role in audit readiness, maintaining quality‑first documentation. Manage manual reporting, dashboards, data updates, and follow‑up, coordinating with contract suppliers such as PCBA manufacturers. Qualifications 7+ years of progressive procurement experience in manufacturing (medical device experience preferred). Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or Industrial Engineering. Comfortable owning strategic or high‑risk supplies (contract manufacturers, PCBA, critical component suppliers) and skilled at managing escalation paths for supply disruptions. Global supply chain experience, including international logistics, customs, tariffs, and HTS codes. Experience in supplier negotiations, cost‑reduction initiatives, and risk mitigation. Familiarity with regulatory compliance (FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, MDSAP). Ability to maintain accurate reporting and data updates in environments with evolving processes. Strong cross‑functional business acumen and understanding of how all departments work together within the organization. Analytical, proactive, and persistent with a solutions‑oriented mindset. Ability to collaborate with Engineering, QA and R&D during new product development to lead supply readiness for NPIs or product changes. Oversee Excess & Obsolete (E&O) inventory and lead strategies to reduce waste, optimize working capital, and coordinate disposition with cross‑functional teams. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to re‑prioritize and pivot as needed.
