Quality Control Technician

Location: Belen, NM

The Quality Control Technician plays a key role in ensuring products meet the highest quality standards through laboratory testing, inspection, equipment calibration, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with laboratory equipment, and making a direct impact on product quality and patient safety.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Perform quality control testing on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods according to approved procedures.
  • Operate, qualify, maintain, and calibrate laboratory testing equipment.
  • Interpret test results and prepare detailed reports with documented conclusions.
  • Support investigations using quality tools such as 8D, PDCA, 5 Why, and Fishbone Analysis.
  • Assist with development of inspection plans, test methods, and quality procedures.
  • Maintain Certificates of Analysis (COA) and Certificates of Compliance (COC).
  • Monitor in-process control charts and ensure quality data is accurately documented.
  • Support change control activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with internal, customer, and external audits.
  • Manage calibration activities to ensure compliance with SOPs and work instructions.
  • Support customer complaint investigations and CAPA activities using Oracle/SAP.
  • Provide technical support to Quality Inspectors and production teams as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation while following GMP requirements and company quality standards.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a science-related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of Quality Control experience in a GMP manufacturing environment or equivalent experience.
  • ASQ Quality Technician certification is a plus.
  • Experience operating laboratory testing and measuring equipment.
  • Understanding of quality systems, inspection techniques, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems is preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow SOPs, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records in a regulated manufacturing environment.
