Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an adult acute care unit serving patients with conditions including elective back surgeries, trauma, prostate cancer, gallbladder disease, and cellulitis
• Maintain a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio while delivering safe, high-quality Medical Surgical nursing care
• Participate in Rapid Response and Code team activations as needed
• Perform peripheral line care and management, oxygen administration, nasal cannula use, non-invasive airway management, and isolation precautions
• Serve in a charge nurse capacity and precept other nursing staff as required
• Float within skillset to other units as operationally needed

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia State or Compact RN license (pending license accepted only for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state)
• Current BLS certification
• Proficiency in Medical Surgical nursing care with demonstrated experience utilizing Rapid Response and Code teams
• Charge nurse experience required
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
• Ability to work at least one holiday per 13-week contract period

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience precepting nursing staff in an acute care setting
• Prior travel nursing experience; first-time travelers are also welcome to apply
