Senior System Safety Engineer

What You Will Do Lead one or more MIL‑STD‑882E compliant system safety programs. Perform system safety program tasks and analyses, or the customer’s approved equivalent. Coordinate with customer safety representatives to obtain safety approval from the appropriate Safety Review Board authorities. Work across all integrated product teams and lines to eliminate hazards or provide effective controls. Collaborate with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal. Conduct system safety program, hazard or design analyses. Brief the program’s safety status at technical reviews and as part of the safety approval process. Interpret system requirements, customer specifications, and military standards. Prepare internal and customer reports describing analyses relevant to the system safety program. Collaborate across multiple disciplines to understand product architecture and design. Must Have Requirements Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM). Minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience. Experience in System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government Secret security clearance. U.S. citizenship (only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance). Preferred Requirements Experience leading multiple DoD System Safety Programs throughout the entire life cycle. Experience briefing at a military safety review board. Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and proposal development. Master’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
