INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

Duties This position may be filled at either GG-12 or GG-13 grade level, please indicate the grade for which you want to be considered. Incumbent may be advanced non-competitively to the established target grade upon meeting developmental benchmarks, performance requirements, and other requirements, as applicable established for the career program or specifically for the incumbent. As a INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties:Serves a nuclear/radiological and missile/delivery system capability and subject-matter expert (SME) responsible for analyzing, evaluating, and disseminating intelligence information on historic-, near-, mid-, and long-term events, plans, developments, and trends pertaining to the political, social, economic, cultural, physical, geographic, scientific, or military conditions, trends, and forces in foreign and domestic areas that directly or indirectly affect national security and the proliferation of, and technical advancement of, global foreign missile and nuclear/radiological programs, dual-use and controlled materials, including nuclear materials of concern, and controlled components.Monitors current worldwide events, research and development activities and political climate that relates to state/non-state actor nuclear program and missile/delivery system advancements, associated personalities and infrastructure.Issues affecting nuclear weapons security; force protection; and blue force operability and survivability against a broad spectrum of NBC-capable missile systems.Assists the Department with planning, directing, and execution of nuclear and missile intelligence activities.Initiates projects and plans, organizes, directs, and/or conducts analysis of broadly defined and interrelated areas of intelligence and technical issues pertaining to WMD threats to U.S. and allied nations.Evaluates the overall effectiveness and adequacy of the intelligence operations, recognizing and responding to collection/production related issues, developments, and trends that impact Agency missions and ensuring fulfillment of all requirements submitted by Agency personnel and elements.Plans, organizes, and conducts applied research on specific intelligence issues pertaining to WMD threats to U.S. and allied nations.Provides written input to reports being prepared for dissemination to Agency leadership, its personnel, Combatant Commands, and the IC.Supports the conduct of basic and advanced research and analysis of specific intelligence issues.Assists in overseeing interdisciplinary and analytical efforts where proposals involve substantial resources, require extensive changes in establishment procedures, or may be in conflict with the desires of activities analyzed.Conducts analytical research on foreign nuclear weapons and missile capabilities and programs to fulfill requirements.Coordinates pertinent information closely with Agency Directorates and IC counterparts.Generates recurring reports for use by Agency leadership and Intelligence analysts.Prepares briefings and written products.Disseminates current information through various written and automated means.Advises colleagues on special studies, alternatives, and recommendations.Maintains extensive liaison with OSD, the Combatant Commands, the IC and other U.S. Government organizations to further the goals of intelligence requirements to support the Agency.As appropriate, speaks on behalf of the Agency at DoD, IC meetings, and working groups.As an expert in nuclear and radiological weapons programs, and missile and delivery systems, recommends approaches needed to fulfill Agency intelligence requirements.Advises management and colleagues on difficult problems, conducts significant studies of a highly specialized nature, proposes options and alternatives, and represents the Agency at interagency meetings and seminars.Requirements Conditions of EmploymentMust be a US citizenSelective Service Requirement: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, and will typically be demonstrated by working at, or immediately below the level of the job being advertised, for a year or more. The previous work experience must clearly demonstrate the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills, abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-12 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience with current nuclear weapons threats and missile delivery systems as well as emerging nuclear/radiological and missile technologies required.Experience with WMD threats to U.S. and allied nations required.Experience with IC analytical production demonstrated through presenting high-level briefings, authoring papers/intel notes and coordinating with the IC required. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-11 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience with current nuclear weapons threats and missile delivery systems as well as emerging nuclear/radiological and missile technologies required.Experience with WMD threats to U.S. and allied nations required.Experience with IC analytical production demonstrated through briefing experience, writing papers/Intel notes and coordination with the IC required.Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies:
