Material HandlerThe mission of BAC is to provide persons with disabilities innovative services and opportunities to achieve personal success.Perform assigned Material Handler duties at designated job site in an efficient and effective manner. Reports to the site leadership team.The list of essential functions below is intended to be representative of the tasks performed within this job. Other duties may be assigned based on business need.Perform material handling duties according to the specified contract method in an efficient and effective manner.Transport of merchandise from staging area to sales floor with use of pallet jack, cart, or other loading or unloading device.Ensure proper maintenance of equipment.Report repair and supply needs in a timely manner.Provide assistance for inventory preparation and processing.Complete all training requirements as it relates to the position.NoneNo minimum experience requiredMust be able to pass a background screening for access to the work areasMust pass a pre-employment drug testMust be authorized to work in the U.S.Prior Material Handling experience preferredIn addition to meeting the minimum qualifications listed above, an individual must be able to perform each of the established essential functions in order to perform this job successfully.Must be able to work harmoniously in a team environment with a diverse workforceWork at a reasonable pace for the job duties assigned and physical abilityGood communication skills (e.g., able to effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints)Able to follow basic instructions with or without a reasonable accommodationReasoning Ability: Able to identify issues or problems, evaluate and draw valid conclusions.Attentive to detail for quality performance.If required to drive, a current driver's license and clean driving record required. May be required to drive personal vehicle during work hours. Not all individuals will have to drive for this position.None.Must be authorized to access and work on government installationsRequirements will vary depending on the assigned tasks. This position does require the following; repetitive lifting, push/pull, carrying, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling and prolonged standing. Will involve lifting/moving of 40 pounds. Reasonable accommodations, when practical, can be offered to accomplish the above requirements.Will involve operating equipment to facilitate lifting/moving a minimum of 40 pounds and a maximum of 150 pounds.Tasks are regularly performed inside without exposure to adverse environmental conditions (e.g., dirt, heat, cold, rain, fumes).Will need to use any personal protective (safety) equipment as designated properly and consistently.Involves exposure to hazardous materials (i.e., cleaning solutions and bio-waste hazards).Required inoculations and training provided by the company.Some tasks may be performed independently with little supervision.Some tasks require manual dexterity, in addition to visual and hearing acuity.Availability: Full Time - Day shift (hours/days will vary)Salary: $17.75 per hourFree medical insurance for employees, and a buy-up option is available. Medical opt-out plan is available for qualified employees. Paid holidays and sick time. Paid vacation is available after one year of employment based on the number of hours worked. Full-time and Part time employees are eligible to participate in the 401k plan on the first of the month following their date of hire.
