Combustion Engine Validation Technician

Compensation: $28/hour

• Are you excited by combustion analysis software—AnD, AVL, or EFI calibration—to validate power, fuel consumption, and governor stability?
• Do you enjoy fabricating fixtures, reading blueprints, and keeping equipment calibrated and compliant?

• Instrument engines and components; execute power checks, fuel consumption tests, and governor stability evaluations.
• Configure and operate high-speed data acquisition and combustion analysis tools (AnD, AVL, and/or EFI calibration software).
• Observe, process, and communicate test outcomes in Microsoft Office; document insights that may alter future test plans or reveal new findings.
• Maintain end-to-end records for scheduled and completed tests (procedures and results).
• Interpret data to recommend minor design changes and propose test system/procedure enhancements.
• Support internal audits; collaborate with external suppliers and customers to ensure accurate testing and results.
• Use fabrication skills—lathe, drill press, welding—and blueprint/engineering document reading to prepare test hardware.
• Own setup, maintenance, and calibration of test equipment; escalate maintenance and calibration needs; keep the test area and equipment clean.
• Manage supplies so testing stays on schedule; notify the appropriate team when reorders are needed.
• Balance multiple priorities based on lab supervisor/scheduler direction; coordinate with fellow technicians for seamless shift transitions.
• Prepare sample engines and components to customer application/spec per engineer direction.
• Handle other related duties as assigned.
• Apply advanced electromechanical equipment understanding in daily tasks.

• High School diploma/GED required; Associate Degree preferred.
• Experience with—and passion for—combustion engines.
• Test lab exposure preferred (not required).
• Accurate documentation and reporting skills.
• Positive attitude, strong communication, and exceptional attention to detail.
