Sr Project Manager

Position Overview Manage transmission, substation, distribution, gas, and information technology projects spanning cross‑functional teams across multiple disciplines and operating areas. Lead project teams through the business case and capital approval process, secure budgets ranging from $250K to $15 million, and manage scope, schedule, and budget, ensuring safety performance during all phases. Primary Responsibilities Accountable for overall project performance for major transmission, substation, distribution, gas construction, technology programs, and IT initiatives. Maintain project costs, schedule and scope within approved limits, developing recovery plans as needed. Coordinate project requirements with internal and external stakeholders. Communicate with sponsors and key stakeholders on project issues, presenting at executive and interdepartmental levels. Build strong relationships between project team, line managers, and interfacing organizations. Coach and lead team members to ensure completion of assigned tasks. Identify and secure project team resources and clarify responsibilities. Job Scope The Project Manager is an individual contributor accountable for project budgets, team performance, and strategic plans across the organization. Responsibilities include business case completion, budget approvals, scheduling, requirements engineering, design tasks, vegetation management reviews, reporting, financial analysis, procurement, environmental analysis, real‑estate acquisition, regulatory stakeholder management, quality assurance, and change management. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and 4‑7 years of relevant project management experience, OR high school diploma and 6‑9 years of experience. Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or achieving CAPM within 2 years; PMP also acceptable. Demonstrated success managing projects. Ability to work independently and lead teams, handling competing priorities in a multitask environment. Strong independent judgment, interpersonal, and time‑management skills. Valid driver’s license and access to an automobile. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in engineering, advanced technical degree, or business administration. PMP certification or Professional Engineer license. Experience or knowledge in utility design, planning, construction, or information technology.
