About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in relevant specialties License: Valid state nursing license Certifications: BLS, radiation badge required Must-Have: Experience in Ophthalmology, Ortho, ENT, GYN, GU, Endocrine, Surgical Oncology, Plastics, Robotics, Total Joints, and ENT Description: Position is for an Ambulatory OR RN. The shift is 10 hours from 06:30 AM to 05:00 PM. Scheduled day off will be determined by department needs, with special requests considered if possible. Scheduled late shifts may occur a few times per month. On-call is not required. May need to float within perioperative areas as needed. The candidate must be well-rounded in specialties aligning with the unit's caseload. Previous charge experience is preferred. Candidate should possess skills in administration of blood products, cardiac monitoring, infection control, and wound management. The unit requires a blend of orthopedic surgeries, including total joints and arthroscopy cases. The pre/post-operative RN will assist in prepping patients before surgery, including reviewing history and reconciling medications. Monitoring of vital signs and post-anesthesia care will be required after surgery. The unit supports a variety of patients and services, ensuring effective collaboration with surgeons and anesthesia teams. The RN will work closely in a fast-paced environment and must be proficient in the majority of essential skills in orthopedic nursing.
