Celonis Value Engineer

We currently have a career opportunity for a Celonis Value Engineer to join our team

Value Engineering is responsible for our largest Fortune 500 customers and owns their transformation journey by working on the very frontier of what’s possible with data and AI on the Celons Platform. Partnering closely with the Sales team, Value Engineering is responsible for ensuring that the Celonis Platform is deployed to tackle the most strategic business challenges, fits into the right place in our customers’ technology stack and most importantly generates strong ROI through deep and broad deployments.

As a Senior Value Engineer, you will spearhead AI and data-driven business transformation by contributing to your customer’s end-to-end value journey using the Celonis Context Model. Working alongside Lead and Principal VEs, you will combine technical execution with consulting and project management. As an AI-fluent operator, your core mandate is to orchestrate complex roadmaps and execute targeted transformation initiatives that improve how these businesses operate across their ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Value Selling & Realization: Uncover the real issues by peeling back layers of organizational complexity. Own the Outcome from first discovery through realized ROI for your process areas. Tell the Value Story by crafting powerful executive narratives and leading business value workshops.
• Stakeholder Management: Cultivate powerful executive sponsorship across core business units to champion transformation programs. Co-own change management with customer leaders and design CoE roadmaps that build self-sufficiency.
• Program Management: Steer Global Transformations across complex workstreams. Own and implement AI-driven account planning and AI-assisted project management. Automate executive governance (QBRs, SteerCos) with minimal manual friction.
• Platform & AI Fluency: Act as an AI-fluent operator, utilizing AI tools for rapid technical outputs while partnering with Applied Value Engineers for deep-dive solution builds. Champion platform adoption.
• Scale Value & Innovation: Build a strategic expansion roadmap embedding Celonis as a strategic platform to drive adoption. Provide feedback to R&D based on evolving customer use cases.

The Celonis Value Engineer (VE) role is a hybrid position that sits directly at the intersection of management consulting, enterprise tech pre-sales, and data analytics. Because a VE owns the entire customer journey—from quantifying financial ROI to building technical prototypes and driving executive adoption—typical software consulting firms house several profiles that map perfectly to this role

1. Functional / Business Process Consultants

Consultants specializing in massive ERP, CRM, or Supply Chain transformations (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, Workday implementations) are excellent fits.

• Why it maps: They inherently understand how core enterprise processes operate (like Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, or Accounts Payable). They can quickly spot process bottlenecks and speak the language of corporate business leaders.
• Typical Titles: SAP Functional Consultant, Supply Chain Consultant, Business Transformation Consultant.

2. Analytics & Data Strategy Consultants

Consultants who focus on turning complex data into executive-level business intelligence.

• Why it maps: The Celonis VE interview process heavily tests your ability to query data, construct dashboards, and build data models. These consultants already possess the required analytical foundation (SQL, relational databases, data manipulation) combined with client-facing storytelling skills.
• Typical Titles: Business Analyst, Analytics Consultant, BI Developer, Data Strategy Consultant.

3. Solution Architects / Pre-Sales Consultants

Technical consultants who partner with sales teams to scope, design, and pitch software solutions to prospective buyers.

• Why it maps: The Celonis VE role combines pre- and post-sales. Solution architects excel at running "Proof of Value" projects, designing software ecosystems (especially now involving AI/LLM orchestration), and delivering high-stakes technology demos to C-level executives.
• Typical Titles: Pre-Sales Engineer, Solution Architect, Solution Consultant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering
• Experience: 5+ years of experience taking ownership of complex workstreams, process areas, and customer relationships in Value Engineering, Consulting, or Pre-Sales.
• AI & Technical & Fluency: Solid background in enterprise IT and business software (e.g., SAP, Workday, Salesforce, Oracle). You operate primarily as an AI-fluent operator, utilizing AI copilots to generate outputs and automations, avoiding heavy manual coding. Some SQL knowledge is highly desired.
• Builder Mentality: Comfortable setting your own direction within an account team. Driven to live for customer value, proactively hunting and ideating for highest-impact solutions.
• Process Improvement & Value Realization: Proven expertise in executing process improvements.
• Strategic Program & Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated expertise orchestrating multi-region or business unit transformation programs. Expert at mobilizing VP/Director-level sponsorship. Flawless English communication with commanding executive presence.
• Domain & Industry: Deep understanding of the Finance/Supply Chain/Banking domains trends. You stay continuously updated on business-critical use cases.
• Degree: Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Analytics, comparable technical degree or a Business/Economics degree paired with a technical minor
• Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skills.
• Excellent facilitation, presentation, and reporting skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Flexible to new situations and challenges.
• Flexibility to travel up to 50 percent.
• Strong understanding of complex Internet-based enterprise-level applications

The salary range for this position takes into consideration a variety of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, level of experience, applicable office location, training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The new hire salary range displays the minimum and maximum salary targets for this position across all US locations, and the range has not been adjusted for any specific state differentials. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $57,798 to $131,640. Please note that the salary range posted reflects the base salary only and does not include benefits or any potential variable compensation programs.
