Matrimonial and Probate Associate Attorney

BridgeView Law Group seeks a part-time associate with at least five years of matrimonial and/or Probate and estate planning experience to join its Rochester, NY office. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated attorney who wants to be an integral part of a team and build a practice focused on problem-solving and client counseling through life’s difficult transitions, but whose own life does not support a 40-hour in-office work week. We are a multi-jurisdiction firm (NY and FL) offering a variety of process options to our clients, including collaborative law, mediation and litigation. Admission to the NY bar is essential; admission to the FL bar is a bonus.

Candidates must have excellent legal research, analytical, and writing skills; knowledge and understanding of New York state court procedural and evidentiary rules; proven project management skills; experience in providing practical and creative advice and client solutions; demonstrated ability to work directly with clients to provide quality representation and service; and be able to effectively delegate and supervise staff. Ideal Qualifications

• Experience providing divorce and/or estate planning and probate counseling to individual clients, conducting legal research and writing and advising on matters involving family law, including divorce, custody, child support, property division; and/or involving probate and estate planning, including wills, trusts, probate and administration of estates in New York.
• Experience litigating matrimonial, custody and support cases with senior attorney oversight including investigating client’s claims, taking and defending depositions, engaging in the discovery process, preparing and arguing motions in Family and Supreme Court. Mediation and/or Collaborative law training is helpful but not required.
• Proficiency in reviewing, advising on, and drafting settlement proposals, agreements, Orders and related items.
• Ability to manage multiple litigation and client projects efficiently and effectively including effective management of priorities and deadlines and appropriate supervision and use of staff and other resources.
