Mechanic Full Time South Plainfield, NJ, US 3 days ago Requisition ID: 1023 Salary Range: $23.00 To $35.00 Hourly Primary Function This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining light duty trucks or emergency vehicles. Key Responsibilities Perform intermediate maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on light-duty trucks and emergency vehicles. Install and service mechanical systems, suspension components and drivetrains. Inspect, troubleshoot and repair engine performance, brakes, cooling systems, ignition systems, hydraulic and electrical systems. Maintain and repair new vehicle set up Responsible for maintaining shop equipment and a clean and safe work area Ensure all work complies with DOT, NFPA, and other regulatory guidelines as required. Maintain accurate service records and follow company and industry safety standards. Manage and report time on tasks. Wash, clean and prep new vehicles for service. All other duties as assigned. Requirements Applicants must have their own tools and a valid state license. Proficiency in automotive mechanical systems, diagnostics and repair. Ensure all work complies with Triple KKK standards. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment a plus. Experience High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of experience in an electrical automotive environment or equivalent experience. Proficient in all intermediate repair disciplines (welding, carpentry, fabrication, knowledge of air brakes systems. etc.) and have a willingness to learn new systems as they relate to emergency vehicles.
