At Sterling Technology Bioactive Solutions, a division of Glanbia Nutritional’s Inc, our portfolio centers on dairy nutritional ingredients. We co-innovate and deliver bioactive ingredient solutions for the mainstream food and beverage, infant and clinical, as well as functional nutrition markets. We are the number one Colostrum based nutritional ingredients globally and our protein systems have just begun to majorly transform the bioactive nutrition market. Glanbia itself has a direct presence in 21 countries, with manufacturing facilities in the US, Germany and China, and international sales and technical offices around the world.
The Opportunity
Directs and coordinates activities of Colostrum production areas in processing raw materials and manufacturing customer specific products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Functions
- Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
- Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
- Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
- Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
- Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
- Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
- Resolves worker grievances or submits unsettle grievances to the Senior Production Manager or Plant Manager for action.
- Fill in on floor if needed to ensure production timelines and KPI’s are achieved.
- Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Southwest Cheese non-negotiables.
- Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
- Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates. (Food Safety Modernization Act- FSMA, Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The Skills you will bring to the team
- Requires a Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Understanding of TPM and similar continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
- Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
- Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources
- Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
