Senior Embedded Software Test Engineer, R&D

Work Flexibility: HybridThe Senior Embedded Software Test Engineer will be responsible for developing and executing tests for embedded software in a complex medical system to ensure software requirements are met. Additional responsibilities include developing software tools to allow test fixtures to interface with the hardware and software of the medical device, documenting test plans and protocols, and troubleshooting software bugs.This role is hybrid with the expectation to be in the office 3 days a week in Portage, MI.Check out a link to our product portfolio here: Stryker Fluid Waste ManagementWhat you will do:Develop and design robust software testing/verification procedures per the requirements and architecture definedPartnering with hardware and software design teams to identify test methods and toolsDevelop test tools to increase test coverage, repeatability and qualityUnderstand software and system requirements to identify the best methods to verify their implementationCreating documentation of test procedures and test forms, as well as supporting documentsDrive root cause investigations for failures from software testsWhat you need:Minimum Qualifications (Required):Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline2+ years of work experience1+ years of software test/verification experiencePreferred Qualifications:Knowledgeable in programming, specifically C and/or C++Experience with embedded systemsKnowledgeable with tools for static/dynamic analysis, memory management, code coverage and techniques for analyzing softwareKnowledge from using Application Lifecycle Management /Traceability tools.
