Safety Supervisor

Safety SupervisorWe are seeking a Safety Supervisor to join our team at Sugar Steel in Chicago Heights, IL. As a key member of our safety department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and maintaining compliance with all safety regulations.Responsibilities:Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the facility (oversee 3 locations)Develop and implement safety policies and proceduresTrain and educate employees on safety protocols, safety training on new hires and annual trainingsDaily written and verbal communication with managers and supervisors regarding safetyContinual evaluations of all warehouse employees, i.e. JSA, spot check, while looking for improvements in safety and efficiencyInvestigate accidents and near-misses and implement corrective actionsEnsure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirementsMinimal travel throughout the year, must go to other locations at least quarterly and in the event of a major issueRequirements:3+ years of experience in a safety role, preferably in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of OSHA regulations and safety best practicesStrong communication and leadership skillsCertification in CPR, First Aid, BBP, AED, Fire Extinguisher safetyAbout Us:Sugar Steel has been a leader in the steel industry for over 50 years.
