Machinist – Toledo, OH (Job ID: 388) Position Title: Machinist FLSA Status: Non-exempt Job Type: Full time Travel: None Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor Position Summary The Machinist is responsible for producing metal and plastic parts to print specifications and performing required machine set-ups and operations. Essential Duties Promotes and demonstrates Wurtec’s core values (dedicated, hardworking, ambitious, willing to accept responsibility, and integrity). Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy environment by adhering to organization standards, policies, and legal regulations, including Safety Data Sheets, Occupational Safety and Health Act, and Environmental Protection Act. Operates assigned machines including HAAS, Fanuc, and ProtoTRAK controls. Performs routine maintenance on assigned machines as required. Regularly reviews and follows all ISO documentation relating to the quality system. Works with machined parts at close tolerances. Inspects work pieces visually or with calipers, micrometers, etc. Reads and interprets prints and engineering drawings. Fluently reads, works, and follows directions. Machines on a variety of materials. Full‑time / in‑person attendance is an essential function of this job. All other duties as assigned. Adaptability to cross‑train in other departments to satisfy customer needs. Works effectively both independently and as part of a team. Works in a time‑effective manner and follows systematic approaches with appropriate follow‑up. Service and detail oriented. Can take directions and provide backup support where needed. Education & Experience Experience in a manufacturing facility. Minimum 1 year of experience in a related position. High School Diploma or GED. Journeyman Card (preferred) Work Environment This role primarily operates in a warehouse environment that is not climate controlled. The noise level is moderate and may involve exposure to vibration, oils, moving mechanical parts, or hazardous traffic conditions. The role requires the use of limbs to operate machinery, occasional lifting up to 50 lbs, and standing for long periods. Additional physical demands include kneeling, neck rotation, pushing, reaching, stopping/twisting, grasping/gripping, pulling, overhead reaching, squatting, and relevant visual and auditory acuity.
