X-Ray Technician / Radiologic Technologist
Location: New York, NY
Duration : 9 weeks
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced X-Ray Technician / Radiologic Technologist to operate radiologic imaging equipment and produce diagnostic images of the body. The technologist will prepare patients for radiological procedures, ensure image quality, and follow radiation safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to patient care and safety.
Key ResponsibilitiesEstablish rapport with patients and healthcare staff to understand patient needs and provide a positive experience.
Explain radiological procedures, answer patient questions, and help reduce anxiety.
Prepare patients for imaging procedures by positioning them correctly and using immobilization devices as needed.
Adjust equipment settings and exposure factors to obtain diagnostic-quality images.
Follow radiation protection practices, including beam restriction, patient shielding, and appropriate exposure techniques.
Maintain compliance with infection control policies and procedures.
Produce high-quality radiographs in accordance with established standards and protocols.
Review images, assess image quality, and make necessary adjustments.
Document patient care, complete examinations, and maintain accurate patient and departmental records.
Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshoot radiology equipment issues.
Coordinate equipment repairs and maintain equipment inventories.
Monitor radiology supplies and ensure adequate inventory levels.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with applicable regulations.
Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education and professional development.
Complete annual Age-Specific Competency requirements.
Collaborate with the healthcare team and perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as an X-Ray Technician or Radiologic Technologist.
Valid New York State Department of Health license as a Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT).
Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
Competency in performing diagnostic radiologic procedures.
Strong knowledge of radiation safety and patient protection techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Dependability, attention to detail, and commitment to quality patient care.
Graduate of a JRCERT-approved school of Radiologic Technology.
Graduation from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology, as specified by the position requirements.
New York State Licensed Radiologic Technologist (LRT).
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
