Infusion Nurse RN - Oncology (FT)

Location: Hematology Oncology of Indiana Pay Range: $24.83 - $46.12 Job Responsibilities Provide safe, accurate and efficient patient care, including patient assessment, review of labs, vital signs, medication safety, dose verification, and drug administration. Follow all Job Breakdown Instructions (JBIs) associated with the role. Offer triage care as needed and communicate patient condition effectively to multidisciplinary team members. Safely and accurately administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biotherapy, supportive care, and non‑oncologic agents per provider orders. Use Oncology Nurse’s Society (ONS) standards and guidelines. Responsible for accurate disposal of biohazardous waste per OSHA & NIOSH guidelines. Provide new and ongoing patient education, continual assessment, and support. Document thoroughly, accurately and timely in EMR, ensuring proper charges and patient identification per JBI. Teach patients and caregivers about medications, side effects, and treatment plans. Prioritize and respond to telephone triage calls from patients, family, hospitals, nursing facilities, pharmacies, and physician offices. Assist with inventory and restocking of medical supplies, recommend new items, and place stock in storage areas. Complete annual safety and nursing trainings and attend mandatory staff meetings. Maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information. Assist in training new employees related to job duties per JBIs. Work at any company location on an as‑needed basis and overtime when given sufficient notice. Perform other duties and projects as assigned per company. Comply with all federal and state regulations, company policies, IT protocols, and disaster plans. Job Qualifications and Requirements Education: Nursing degree. Certifications/Licenses: Unencumbered RN license in state of employment, current CPR/BLS certifications, valid driver’s license and vehicle for travel to other clinic locations as needed. Minimum Experience: Experience with hematology/oncology patients in a clinic or hospital setting; ability to assess patient needs and condition; strong critical thinking skills; calm and effective response in emergency situations; fluency in English with excellent oral and written communication.
