Location Avera McKennan Hospital Worker Type Regular Work Shift Day/Evening/Weekend/Holiday (United States of America) Pay Range $32.50 - $48.50 (actual rate dependent upon experience) Position Highlights May be eligible for a $15,000 sign‑on bonus. 1–3 years working in a clinical environment. Shift schedule: 8:00–8:30 pm; weekends every 4th weekend; holidays 2–3 per year with minimal call time. Hospital at Home The Hospital at Home team provides physician‑directed care to patients with low‑to‑moderate acuity in their own homes. Brief Overview The Registered Nurse (RN) – Hospital at Home delivers acute‑level nursing care to patients receiving hospital services in their homes. The RN works with an interdisciplinary team, providing assessment, intervention, coordination, and education consistent with inpatient standards while promoting patient safety, comfort, and recovery in the home setting. What You Will Do Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan to all members of the health‑care team, coordinating with other providers, and offering physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support. Function as an interventionalist in the home, using clinical expertise to recommend actions to physicians based on comprehensive assessments of physical, psychosocial, emotional, spiritual, and bereavement factors. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting physical and psychological status, drawing labs, providing respiratory care, and establishing nursing diagnoses, objectives, and interventions. Educate patients, families, and friends on care goals, medications, and self‑care skills, answering questions and providing resources. Evaluate patient care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring outcomes, reviewing records, and adjusting care plans as needed. Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by following infection‑control policies, medication administration procedures, and legal regulations, and by alerting others to potential concerns. Document patient care services in patient and department records. Keep patient‑care equipment operating by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance. Keep patient‑care supplies ready by tracking stock, anticipating needs, placing orders, verifying receipt, and stocking items. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities as outlined by leadership. Essential Qualifications Must be able to work the hours specified. Must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily, including adequate visual acuity and effective communication.
