Senior Staff Accountant
Our client is a privately owned, growing organization seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This position will play an important role in accounts receivable, collections, cash management, tax administration, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a hands-on accounting environment.
Overview Of The Senior Accountant Role:
- Manage the full accounts receivable process, including posting payments, account maintenance, and collections
- Oversee collections of approximately $1.2M$1.6M per month and prepare weekly cash collection reports
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations for four accounts and ensure completion by the 2nd5th business day
- Reconcile accounts receivable and customer accounts, researching and resolving discrepancies
- Support the month-end close process and assist with various account reconciliations
- Manage customer tax information through Avalara, including new customer setup and exemption certificate maintenance
- Process daily deposits and transfers between company bank accounts
- Monitor credit card processing and assist with daily cash management
- Provide backup support for customer invoicing and other accounting functions as needed
- Assist with special projects and additional accounting responsibilities as assigned
Preferred Qualifications For The Senior Accountant:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounts receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Experience with collections and cash management preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Ability to learn and work effectively within accounting systems
