Now Hiring: Skilled Manufacturing Roles – Tool & Die Maker, Maintenance Technician, Stamping Press Operator (Grand Rapids, MI)

C3 Workforce is hiring for an established metal stamping manufacturer in the Grand Rapids area. These are long-term roles for skilled people who take pride in their work. There are openings on a weekend shift that pays 40 hours for 36 worked and on a Monday–Thursday 2nd shift.

SHIFT OPTIONS

• Weekend Shift: Friday–Sunday, 5:00am–5:00pm. You work 36 hours and get paid for 40.
• 2nd Shift: Monday–Thursday, 3:00pm–1:00am, plus a $0.50/hr shift premium.

TOOL & DIE MAKER (JOURNEYMAN), $27–$31/hr
Weekend shift

You’ll repair and maintain production dies and improve them so the press room keeps running quality parts.

• Sharpen, inspect, repair and maintain production stamping dies
• Troubleshoot tooling problems and suggest or carry out improvements
• Build production aids such as chutes and simple gauges
• Run toolroom equipment, including mills and surface grinders
• Manage die repair supplies and inventory
• Keep production control and manufacturing informed on die status

Requirements:

• Journeyman card (required)
• 8+ years of tool & die experience
• Working knowledge of mills and surface grinders
• Able to read blueprints
• Heavy die experience, a crane license and lean manufacturing experience are a plus

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN, $23–$27/hr
Weekend shift or 2nd shift (+$0.50 premium)

You’ll keep presses, cranes and steel processing equipment running through troubleshooting, repairs and PMs.

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
• Maintain and repair large stamping presses, overhead cranes, conveyors and steel processing equipment
• Disassemble, repair or replace defective components, then test equipment before returning it to production
• Perform PMs, document findings and recommend updates to PM procedures
• Keep safety guards in good working condition

Requirements:

• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, ideally on stamping presses, overhead cranes or steel processing equipment
• Technical school or college certificate preferred (equivalent experience considered)
• Forklift (Hi-Lo) and aerial lift licenses required
• Able to read blueprints and mechanical/electrical schematics
• Comfortable working at heights

STAMPING PRESS OPERATOR, $20–$23/hr
Weekend shift or 2nd shift (+$0.50 premium)

You’ll run a metal stamping press safely and efficiently while holding quality standards.

• Set up and run stamping presses from last-piece to first-piece approval
• Help set dies and related equipment using standardized setup instructions
• Load coil and feed material into the press
• Inspect parts at set intervals with gauges and handheld measuring tools
• Do first- and last-hit inspections and tell Tooling whether the die is ready or needs repair
• Make sure packaging and piece counts are correct, and enter production counts into the system

Requirements:

• 2–3+ years of experience running metal stamping presses
• High school diploma or GED
• Experience with die setup and measuring tools (calipers, gauges) preferred
• Forklift (Hi-Lo) license preferred
