Flexible Scheduling Professional Career Growth The Culinary Aide in a Skilled Nursing Facility is responsible for assisting in the preparation, service, and delivery of meals to residents, ensuring that all food safety and sanitation guidelines are followed. The Culinary Aide works under the supervision of the dietary staff and supports the kitchen team in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment. This role directly contributes to the overall satisfaction of residents by providing nutritious and appetizing meals in a timely manner. Key Responsibilities: Meal Preparation Support: Assist in the preparation of food items including salads, vegetables, desserts, and other menu items as directed. Follow dietary instructions and resident meal preferences, ensuring special dietary needs (e.g., low-sodium, gluten-free) are met. Portion, assemble, and prepare food for meal service based on established dietary plans. Meal Service: Serve meals to residents in a timely and courteous manner. Ensure that meals are presented attractively and served at the proper temperature. Set up, clear, and clean dining areas before, during, and after meal services. Food Safety & Sanitation: Adhere to all food safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen and dining areas, following all health and safety codes. Assist with cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and dining areas, including dishwashing and garbage disposal. Resident Interaction: Communicate effectively with residents, ensuring meal preferences, needs, and dietary restrictions are understood and respected. Report any changes in a resident's dietary needs or health status to the dietary supervisor or nursing staff. Team Collaboration: Work with other kitchen staff and dietary team members to ensure the smooth flow of meal preparation and service. Assist with inventory and stock rotation, ensuring all supplies are properly labeled and stored.
